Due to her husband’s Air Force career, Dr. Paul has practiced in many different states. Since her husband’s retirement, they are happy to have settled in Northern Virginia with their two children.

“Over the years both clinical and personal experience has taught me that chiropractic manipulation alone is not the key to reducing neck and back pain. It is very important for people to become acutely aware of HOW they move. This means, ‘how do I get in and out of a car’; ‘how do I bend down to pick up a large water bottle at the grocery store’; ‘how do I sit when I relax’…and the list is of course endless. At Basics First Chiropractic, teaching patients to move differently is part of the healing process. We really focus on core awareness and then core strengthening. There are other types of self-help techniques as well that we teach. Our philosophy is, it’s not just what we can do for you, but to teach you what you can also do for yourself. After all, a healthier spine is a healthier you!”
