Dear Patients,

Phew, where has this month gone?? I'm a little late sending this out, but I wanted to let all you Mom's out there know that I was thinking of you! I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day! The weather was just perfect! My husband and I spent the afternoon with good friends at one of the wineries; and the perfect finish to the day was getting calls from my two kids!

Did you also know, May is Correct Posture Month? Working on your posture begins with awareness and knowledge. To avoid getting a hump on your upper back, it's important to keep your ears above the shoulder. As your head goes forward, there's greater pressure on the bones and it results in pain and head forward tilt. If it's been awhile since your last Posture Scan, schedule to have a new picture taken. It's quick and easy to evaluate your posture to see if corrective care is necessary.

Finally, I'd like you all to save the date, Sat, June 3 for our Open House from 12 to 4 pm. We are celebrating 15 years in Leesburg VA with a Loudoun Chamber ribbon cutting! Please stop by and bring a friend too! We are offering complimentary posture scans that day! Health Tips in Leesburg VA

Rehabbing your neck at home to counter the head forward tilt of working at a desk for eight hours a day can be as simple as sleeping on the right pillow. Each person has a different neck length and width. So the pillow that works wonders for one person may not quite suit another. We measure our patients for pillows then ensure it's the correct one for them by instructing on proper sleep positions. Call the office to schedule a Pillow Measurement Appointment!

Somethings to make note of:

  • When you're sleeping on your back, place a pillow under your knees to take away any lower back tension.
  • When sleeping on your side, place a pillow in between your knees to keep hips aligned.
  • Never sleep on your stomach…It's a recipe for neck and lower back pain!

The Vital Role of Essential Oils in Rest and Recovery

Sleep is such an important part of restore and recovery for our bodies and research has shown getting at least seven (if not eight) hours is a must. Best/recent vacation that you've been on?

The best vacation I have been on was to Honduras. I have gone several times, since my family is from there. The most recent, in 2022, was the best one I've had! I went to Omoa Beach, and Tela which is famous in Honduran tourism. I was with my family and we had an amazing time. We also went to San Pedro Sula, and there we went to the big sign on the "Coca-Cola '' mountain that oversees the city and the rest of Honduras. It was a hike but so worth it!

What do you love about the current season?

I love the warmer weather. I usually prefer the fall season but the warm weather always feels great! I love spending time outside and walking my dog (without freezing). I love going on hikes, especially on warm days. I also like visiting amusement parks, Kings Dominion and Busch Gardens are my top two favorites.

What is your favorite quote?

My favorite quote would be "Do good and good will come to you." It's a reminder that no matter what, to be kind. We never know what somebody is going through, and we have to be nice to everyone."
