About Dr. Paul
Dr. Paul graduated from Union College in Schenectady, NY with a BS degree and then she received her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Logan College in St. Louis, Mo. She began practicing in 1989 in Mississippi.
Due to her husband's Air Force career, Dr. Paul has practiced in many different states. Since her husband's retirement, they are happy to have settled in Northern Virginia with their two children.
"Over the years both clinical and personal experience has taught me that chiropractic manipulation alone is not the key to reducing neck and back pain. It is very important for people to become acutely aware of HOW they move. This means, ‘how do I get in and out of a car’; ‘how do I bend down to pick up a large water bottle at the grocery store’; ‘how do I sit when I relax’…and the list is of course endless. At Basics First Chiropractic, teaching patients to move differently is part of the healing process. We really focus on core awareness and then core strengthening. There are other types of self help techniques as well that we teach. Our philosophy is, it’s not just what we can do for you, but to teach you what you can also do for yourself. After all, a healthier spine is a healthier you!"
About Dr. Connor
As a physician, Dr. Sean practices Chiropractic care and Physiotherapy. His day-to-day responsibilities include providing biomechanical analysis, lecturing on the latest health topics, performing physical examinations, treating patients using the latest adjusting techniques and therapeutic exercises in a multidisciplinary care center.
In his spare time, Dr. Sean donates his time and expertise providing humanitarian clinical aid to under served regions. He was last involved with working in Manaus, Brazil providing care in remote areas of the amazonian region to the local villagers that were otherwise unable to obtain health care. Dr. Connor and his wife Angie are involved in rescuing ex-race horses and retraining them as a “hunter jumper” while fitting them with the “right” rider under the designation of Connor Farms Equestrian Training. His previous careers included hospital staffing supervisor, medical operations management, laboratory technician, firefighter and rescue technician.
Dr. Connor completed his graduate education at Palmer College of Chiropractic located in Davenport, Iowa for his Doctorate in Chiropractic and Bachelors of Science in 2010. In 2002, he received his Bachelor of Arts with pre-medical studies from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. He attributes his success to the support of his family and to his loving wife.
